Job Description and Requirements


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Followup laboratory tests of various construction materials including soil, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, steel, tile,
  • Receive samples from customers and ensure they are wellidentified and in a proper sequence.
  • Respond to customers' inquiries concerning testing progress and reporting.
  • Prepare and initially check material testing reports before their submission for approval by the Materials Department Manager.
  • Analyze test data and conduct corrective action to prevent nonconforming products.
  • Set materials testing schedules and supervise work performed by materials testing technicians.
  • Prepare and provide quotes and bids on materials testing and special inspection work.
  • Conduct materials testing and special inspection reports and communicate results to the Department Manager, client, contractor, and other relevant parties.
  • Ensure tests are carried out by relevant standard test methods and according to agreed customers' requirements.
  • Analyze as required after receiving test results from technicians, and ensure compliance with national and international standards.
  • Ensure all site equipment and instruments are fit for use by providing of necessary resources for the implementation of calibration and maintenance programs.
  • Ensure proper implementation of safety regulations and protection measures are taken in the lab.
  • Receive and inspect material samples delivered to the Laboratory.
  • Review related orders and ensure all the required information is clear and available.
  • Log customer orders and identify incoming samples.
  • Ensure proper storage of received samples, maintain and record specified sample storage conditions, if any, curing and ambient temperature.
  • Prepare Sample Disposal Schedule on a biweekly basis in coordination with Cement Technicians follow up sample disposal and maintain related records.
  • Ensure inventory supplies of materials.
  • Any duties or responsibilities assigned by the management.

Education and Related Work ExperienceEducation and Related Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials, Civil Engineering, or any related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of Materials Engineering.
