Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians and professionals, ensuring a high level of performance, motivation, and skill development.
- Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies, schedules, and procedures to optimize the performance of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the maintenance department's budget, ensuring costeffective operations while maintaining high standards of service.
- Asset Management: Maintain an accurate record of all assets, equipment, and machinery, and implement a preventive maintenance program to extend their lifespan and reduce breakdowns.
- Vendor and
Supplier Management:
Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers for maintenance services, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of parts and services.
- Health and
Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and internal policies, promoting a safe working environment.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and assess the performance of equipment and facilities, making recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for unexpected maintenance issues to minimize downtime.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on maintenance activities, performance, and budgetary information to senior management.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering and 7+ years' experience in maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment of which 3+ years should be in a managerial position.
- Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering and 10+ years' experience in maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment of which 5+ years should be in a managerial position.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of maintenance processes and best practices.
- A recognized trade in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering and 15+ years' experience in maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment of which 7+ years should be in a managerial position.
- Previous packaging or bagging experience or experience obtained in a bagging and packaging or FMCG environment is preferred.
- Must possess good communication skills written and oral, with the ability to manage
- Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
- Demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication in English.
- Working knowledge of computers, SAP, and all Microsoft packages.
