    Main Responsibilities:

    • Perform health screenings during sick call following approved standing orders or arranging appropriate MD referrals.
    • Administer and record medication as prescribed by the physician in the correctional environment.
    • Document all healthcare provided in the medical records.
    • Support Physician as required.
    • Transcribe all MD directives from medical records.
    • Handle medical records along with proper documentation and medication during inmate transfers.
    • Execute clinical treatments & procedures with universal precautions.
    • Maintain 40 hours of in-service education annually covering mandatory sessions and CPR certification.
    • Offer emergency medical care to inmates and staff.
    • Participate in staff health matters as instructed, such as TB screening, Hepatitis B vaccinations, flu vaccinations, and post-exposure evaluation.
    • Cooperate with other correctional professionals to ensure the inmate's social, psychological, and security requirements are satisfied.
    • Contribute to the planning and organization of nursing services essential to address the overall healthcare needs of patients in a 24/7 medical clinic.
    • Collect and handle lab specimens for transportation to the laboratory.
    • Engage in educating inmates about health-related topics.
    • Perform any other assigned tasks.

    6:00am - 7:00pm
    6:00pm - 7:00am
