    Position: Research and Insights Manager

    Sector: NEOM Tourism

    Job Location: Sharma, NEOM

    Role Purpose:

    The role aims to bring state-of-the-art market research and data analytics function to the Tourism Department to strengthen destination competitiveness by placing it at the forefront of the world tourism industry trends.

    Key Accountabilities & Activities:

    • Lead the establishment of research and insight function in Tourism Department
    • Identify the research needs across all divisions of the Tourism Department (Branding and Marketing; Destination Development; Regulation and Planning; Events) and develop a research strategy and program to support their requirements
    • Introduce creative research techniques which deliver deep insights into target source markets and visitor profiles
    • Identify and engage with external research agencies to deliver research requirements of the Department
    • Gather and analyze visitor data
    • Translate and visualize complex data to communicate information in a simple and easily understandable manner
    • Design automated, accurate, and real-time dashboards for data visualization
    • Develop the measurement and monitoring tools for the performance of marketing campaigns
    • Update Tourism team and wider NEOM on industry trends and insights related to key target markets and competing destinations
    • Work closely with other NEOM Departments, regional projects and Base Economy institutions on research, tourism statistics and other data related aspects.

    Background, Skills & Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 10-year experience in an in-house or external agency market research role with a minimum of three years at the managerial level
    • Extensive experience in customer research and insight with proven ability to explore business performance and utilize statistical techniques to address Tourism Department needs
    • Demonstrated experience in executing and summarizing primary research, secondary research, and statistical analysis
    • Proven experience in marketing and data analytics, with a track record of translating insights from data into opportunities
    • Ability to communicate complex ideas in an efficient and compelling way
    • Good presentation skills
    • Proven ability in commissioning and managing external research
    • Demonstrated ability to work on a diverse scope of projects requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, and sound judgment
    • Flexibility to work in the environment of a start-up
    • Experience working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or the Middle East will be considered an advantage
    • Good written and spoken English.
