Leidos is seeking a TPS-78 Radar Systems Engineer with comprehensive knowledge of the TPS-78 radar equipment, hardware and software, operation and maintenance to support the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The TPS -78 Radar Systems Engineer will be part of the Contractor Engineering and Technical Support team in support of a U.S.

Air Force Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a one-year assignment with option to renew. Assignment location may be one of seven locations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia per the Performance Work Statement.

We are expecting award in July 2023.


Primary Responsibilities:


Supporting the RSAF Officer-in-Charge by:

  • Actively advising and assisting in all aspects of his specialty.
  • Continuously monitoring of all RSAF training in his specialty and recommending improvements.
  • Training RSAF Engineering Officers and Warrant Officers in practical and theory.
  • Producing adequate engineering training material in his specialty.
  • Performing intermediate level maintenance in his specialty as required.
  • Supporting Mobile Maintenance Team (MMT) functions and travel to remote radar sites to perform specialized maintenance, trouble shooting, and training.

Required Qualifications:


  • Master's degree and 10 years of directly related experience; or Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Radar Technology and 12 years of directly related experience; 4 additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years' experience on a wide variety of surveillance Radars including at least three (3) years' TPS78 experience.
  • Must be qualified and specialized on the TPS78 Radar equipment, hardware and software, operation and maintenance of the Radar.
  • Must have theoretical and practical knowledge and experience with TPS78 Radar operation & maintenance, including installation, testing, integration, upgrades and modifications to the TPS78 Radars.
  • Overall experience with Radars should include Air Defense Ground Radar, Primary/Secondary, all aspects of 3 dimensional Radar plot extractors, Height Computers, and interface equipment.
  • The technical knowhow should include Antennas, Processors, computers, monitoring, data transmission, plot extractors, power systems and other sub systems associated with TPS78 Radars.

  • Be able to demonstrate past examples of cultural adaptability and ability to establish a trusted professional relationship with an international customer.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $118, $182, $245,700.00
