We are currently looking for a Project Engineer (Crane Experience) to join our team in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The main purpose of the Senior Project Engineer is to undertake management duties within a multidiscipline

Engineering Department. All work would be carried out under the direct supervision of the Area Manager.

The incumbent is also responsible for the progress of projects, from initial kick-off to issue of deliverables, provide business promotion and establishment, business administration and project engineering support under the direction of the Area Manager.

Main responsibilities

• To carry out a Lead Engineer function within the Engineering & Operations Department providing a support function to the establishment in all aspect of cranes, lifting and support service activities.
• Contribute to the establishment sales effort, through direct client contact and meetings, with particular focus on target customers as defined within the establishment business plan.
• Duties encompass the assistance with compilation and cost control of the business unit budgets and, in conjunction with the Area Manager, identify areas for business development.
• Contribute to quarterly performance reviews with line management regarding the department's services to enable accurate review of business unit performance.
• When undertaking visits to site or offshore installations, promote and maintain effective communications with Client representatives and Sparrows Offshore personnel.
• Provide an administration and technical support function to the business unit for all service area activities.
• Responsible for assisting with the regular and correct compilation and condition monitoring of information relating to all aspects of the allocated projects.
• Major function is to provide a comprehensive Lead Engineer function within the establishment, encompassing, but not limited to, the following:
• Preparation of proposals and tenders.
• Administration of assigned project files.
• Liaison with clients and subcontractors.
• Preparation of calculations and work procedures.
• Completion of purchase requisitions.
• Arrange equipment dispatch and transportation.
• Compilation of job closeout reports.
• Preparation of engineering invoice drafts and financial control of assigned projects.
• Ensuring that Direct reports develop their own skills and experience for the benefit of the Company by: o Mentoring of subordinates to ensure individuals are developed to fully meet their potential. o Undertaking an annual formal appraisal where development needs are identified and agreed. o Monitoring the performance of his direct reports and recommending development opportunities. o Identifying the training needs for employees. o Offshore surveys and project implementation.

HSEQ responsibilities

• It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
• The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under countryspecific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.

Qualifications and experience

• An HND in Engineering although a BSc or BEng (Hons) Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferable.
• Experience within a project engineering environment / mechanical engineering background in multicultural environment.
• Excellent Communication skills to enable effective Client liaison.
• Effective in dealing with commercial and management aspects of the role.
• Careful and meticulous professional and a motivated selfstarter.
• Good technical writing skills.
• Proven experience in mentoring team members.
