Job Summary:
The MEP Technician, also known as a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Technician, is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within a facility.
They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of these systems to maintain a safe and functional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment such as HVAC systems, pumps, and generators.
- Handle electrical system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including lighting, power distribution, and control panels.
- Perform plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance of pipes, fixtures, and drainage systems.
Inspections and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct regular inspections of MEP systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and implement effective solutions.
Repairs and Upgrades:
- Carry out necessary repairs or replacements of faulty components in MEP systems.
- Upgrade systems to meet energy efficiency and sustainability standards, suggesting improvements where applicable.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment specifications.
- Create reports on system performance, issues, and recommended actions.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with potentially hazardous equipment and systems.
- Ensure that all MEP installations and repairs are in compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other departments and team members to schedule maintenance and repairs to minimize disruption.
- Assist in the planning and execution of MEPrelated projects.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as an MEP Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and components.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of relevant safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- The role may involve lifting heavy equipment and materials.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Riyadh: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employerprovided relocation package (required)
