- Direct and supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems onboard vessels, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Act as a mentor to trainees in the piping department, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to facilitate their growth and development. Document trainee progress and provide feedback to aid in their professional advancement.
- Utilize your certification as an assessor or readiness to obtain one to assess and certify piping systems and personnel as per organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Leverage your experience working at prominent shipbuilding organizations to introduce and implement best practices in piping operations. Share knowledge and insights to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Ensure that all piping activities adhere to top classification society standards and requirements such as IACS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, RINA, etc. Maintain accurate documentation to demonstrate compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, quality assurance, and project management to ensure seamless coordination and execution of piping activities.
- Effectively manage resources including manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize piping processes and meet project deadlines.
- Champion a culture of safety by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and risk mitigation measures across piping operations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred, with additional certifications or training in piping systems being advantageous.
- Proficient English communication skills with a minimum IELTS band score of 7 or equivalent, essential for mentoring trainees and documenting their progress.
- Documented history of being a certified assessor or eligibility to become one, demonstrating the ability to assess and certify piping systems and personnel.
- Proven track record of working at prominent shipbuilding organizations, with significant experience in piping operations. Bring along best practices and behaviors to enhance operations.
