Supervises Environmental Operations staff in assigned area, ensuring optimum use of staff, materials, equipment and the maintenance of established standards.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Supervises Housekeeping staff in assigned area, ensuring optimum utilization of resources and the maintenance of established standards.
  • Performs inspections according to departmental requirements using and inspection tracker and an inspection checklist.
  • Organizes distribution of materials, consumables and machinery from Housekeeping Store Room. 4. Coordinates with the housekeeping store staff to ensure that the supplies and equipment required completing scheduled work are available at the correct time and place. Ensures that subordinate housekeeping staff uses these material correctly and economically.
  • Coordinates with the housekeeping store staff to ensure window privacy and that shower curtains are changed and laundered, as necessary.
  • Receives requests/complaints from user departments and takes appropriate action.
  • Evaluates and supervises staff performance, recommends performance improvements action, counsels subordinates, and recommends disciplinary action as required.
  • Uses computer system for work requests, patient discharge information and leave requests.

Education:

Bachelor's or Associate Degree/ Diploma in Business, Hospital Administration, Environmental Health, or other related discipline is required.


Experience Required:


Grade 07:
No experience required with Bachelor's Degree, or one (1) year with Associate Degree/ Diploma is required.


Grade 08:
One (1) year of related experience with Bachelor's Degree, or three (3) years with Associate Degree/ Diploma is required.
