    Background:

Duties and Responsibilities:


The Culture Statistics Expert will provide technical assistance related producing indicators and statistical methodologies essential for the analysis of economic and social data of the cultural sector.

The Culture Statistics Expert will also implement capacity-strengthening activities, including training and mentoring, for the staff.

the responsibilities under this assignment include the following:
- **Technical support*
  • Review Saudi cultural framework.
  • Follow up on the process of cultural establishment survey (HES).
  • Complete the process of cultural and entertainment survey (HCES).
  • Complete the process of cultural satellite account 202
  • Review the methodologies.
  • Review data collected.
  • Review measured indicators.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks requested by the supervisor.

Capacity Development

  • In addition to delivering the abovementioned technical support, the Culture Statistics Expert will advise the GaStat employments and related stakeholders on principles and best practice in relation to culture Statistics methodologies and frameworks.
  • Providing coaching and onthejobtraining for the GaStat staff as needed

B.Institutional Arrangement

The expert will be reporting to the Director of the Culture Statistics Department at GASTAT. As well as, keeping UNDP assigned Programme Analyst informed about the monthly progress report.

C.Duration of the Work

  • The expected duration of work is 110 working days, over a period of 10 months.
  • The anticipated starting date of the assignment is 1st of March 2023. And the expected date of full completion of all tasks under this assignment is 31st of December 2023.
D.Duty Station

  • The assignment will be Hybrid, the expert will have a schedule of both home and officebased tasks.
  • Table below shows, the time frame for the consultants working days distribution

  • If unforeseen travel outside the consultant's homebased city is requested by UNDP and not required by the Terms of References (ToR), such travel shall be covered by UNDP in line with applicable rules and regulations and upon prior written agreement. In such cases, the consultant shall receive living allowances not exceeding the United Nations (UN) Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) rate for such other location(s).
- **Note**: A written approval from UNDP and relevant authorities will be required to facilitate the consultant's travel to any locations
