Ourbanking client is currently recruiting a Market Risk Associate(Treasury & Credit Ratings) to be based in Riyadh SaudiArabia

The MarketRisk Unit is within the broad mandate of Risk Management Department(RMD) which oversees the implementation of the organizations RiskManagement Framework covering Credit Risk (and CreditAdministration) Market Risk and Operational Risk.

Responsibilities:

Under thesupervision and guidance of the Director Risk Management Departmentand the Market Risk Unit Head the Market Risk Associate will havethe followingresponsibilities:

• Ongoingmonitoring of the company's business processes andfinancial profile to identify any changes that might have an impacton their credit rating and recommending the necessaryresponses.
• Ongoingliaison with international rating agencies and the main point ofcontact for all matters related to the company's externalcreditratings
• Collectall required information from different departments of theorganization and accurately complete all rating models and provideany other information required by ratingagencies.
• Developand update internal data models linked to the external ratingagency models to ensure accurate faster and efficient rating/reviewprocesses.
• Liaisewith external consultants involved in the credit ratingprocess.
• Contributetowards internal and external initiatives to improve their owninternal credit ratings for beneficiary entities projects andcountries to better measure and manage their creditrisk
• Supportthe mark to market process by ensuring that the MTM sources areupdated and reflective of marketrates/prices.
• Assist inproviding opinions for the risk profile of new products withintrading and investmentbooks.
• Conductscenario analysis to evaluate the potential impacts of variousmarket events on their portfolio providing insights andrecommendations for riskmitigation
• Prepareaccurate and timely market risk reports and carry out marketanalysis and articulate the shortterm view about their market riskprofile.
• Assistthe market risk unit head in preparing the risk reports to the ALCOInvestment Committee and the Board Risk Committee highlighting keyrisk exposures findings and recommendedactions.
• Ensurecompliance with the RMF requirements in terms of liquidity andtreasury transactions and internal risk management policies andprocedures.
• Stayupdated with market trends industrydevelopments.
• Conductregular and periodic Value at Risk (VAR) analysis related to theinvestments portfolio to measure the market risk exposures and toguide the internal operationaldecisionmaking.
• Ongoingcompliance monitoring and risk reporting of treasury/investmentsactivities market and counterparty credit risk exposures and theprovision of related treasury risk expertise in support of theoverall risk management activities ofBADEA.
• Maintainan updated approved lists of counterparties and limits fordepository banks brokers futures counterpartiesetc.
• Review ofproposed investment/divestment/reallocation and otherdecisions/proposals from the Investments department prior to theirsubmission to the InvestmentCommittee.
• Attend tothe external auditors requests during their mission to the companyasappropriate
• Review ofinvestment managers periodic reports and advising on their overallperformance in managing the assets and complying with applicableinvestmentguidelines
• Analyseand advise on complex or recurrentissues
• investmentsand liquidity portfolios such as the costs and valuation ofderivative contracts calculation and analysis of Potential Futureexposure (PFE)etc.
• Keepabreast of developments on International Financial ReportingStandards (IFRS) and their impacts on reporting in financialstatements especially in relation to complex financial instrumentswhereapplicable.
• ALMVerification and ongoing monitoring of the matching between thefinancial terms of the banks assets and liabilities to maintainmarket risk within the banks risk appetitestatement
• Workingwith financial data providers to collect and analyse all marketdata necessary for portfolios valuation counterparties creditprofile assessments and other treasury dataneeds.
• Maintainapproved lists of ISDA ISMA depository banks brokers and futurescounterparties.
• Reviewand maintain uptodate Treasury Risk Management operationalprocedures propose new controls and optimizedprocesses.
• Participateto the negotiation and review of clauses in ISDA/CSA and GMRAagreements to ensure an adequate legal framework for treasuryoperations.
• Contributeto the implementation of treasury risk measures or activitydashboards needed to be in line with industry standards bestpractices audit and rating agenciesrequirements.
• Performother duties as assigned by the market risk unithead.

Requirements:

• Hold atleast a Masters degree or its equivalent (another post graduatequalification) in Business Administration Finance Banking orrelatedfield.
• Familiaritywith the credit rating methodologies of international ratingagencies (Moodys Fitch and S&P) preferably with priorworking knowledge/experience in thesame.
• Stronganalytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statementanalysis and accountingconcepts.
• Abilityto deal with large volumes of data proficiency with figures and theability to maintain accuracy and be detail oriented while complyingwithdeadlines.
• StrongExcel/Word/PowerPoint and database application skills. Ability toprepare forecasts based upon reasoned assumptions will berequired.
• Professionalcertification in Risk and/or Finance such as Financial Risk Manager(FRM) Professional Risk Manager (PRM) Chartered Financial Analyst(CFA) or Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) will be anadvantage.
• Have aminimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience inInternational Financial Institutions or Investment Banks with alarge scope of treasury fixed income activities credit analysis andmarket risk assessment. Working experience in Fixed Income andDerivatives frontoffice middle office or risk managementdepartments will be anadvantage.
• Abilityto communicate effectively (written and oral) in English (required)Arabic (strong advantage) and French(desired).
• Able towork effectively in a fastpaced environment possesses stronginterpersonal and communication skills is customeroriented anddemonstrates excellent presentation skills in front of internal andexternalaudiences.
• Experiencein using Bloomberg Reuters as well as a knowledge of programming ordatabase languages like Excel VBA SQL R Python or C would be anadvantage.
• Solidquantitative background extensive analytical skills and ability toefficiently solve problems independently andproactively.
• Wellorganizedwith a proven ability to solve problems independently with a strongsense of personal ownership and a focus on timelines &results.
• Abilityto work autonomously as well as part of a multicultural team.Demonstrated knowledge and experience of financial and/or riskreporting. Ability to cope under pressure with strong planning andorganizationskills.
