JOB PURPOSE:


  • Ensure that the tasks assigned to middle office function under Risk management are reviewed and authorized. Support the front office in the areas of middle office risk management by ensuring that deals negotiated/executed by the front office conform to the agreements, policies, procedures, and approvals. This includes business transactions originating from Treasury and capital markets, Corporate Banking and Trade Finance (lending) and Direct Equity Investments.
  • Assist Risk Management Team in the various areas of Risk Management analytics, MIS, and report generation (Credit Risk, Market Risk, monthly risk reports) in completing the required tasks.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform limit monitoring and availability for Corporate Banking, Trade Finance, Investments and Treasury and capital market transactions.
  • Review draft documentation of all new transactions and ensure full compliance with approval processes and APICORP's policies.
  • Assist in the new loan account opening, account maintenance and monitor the completeness of documents
  • Ensure data governance and system adequacy to record credit and investment transactions. Develop internal controls in the systems and processes to reduce errors and improve data accuracy.
  • Handle adhoc requests and audit matters as required and when required.
  • Coordinate and monitor loan disbursements and drawdowns with the Back Office/operations.
  • Review daily exceptions reports, analyze explanations for the exceptions and escalate to management if necessary.
  • Review and update Middle Office policies and procedures as and when required.
  • Inform the relevant authority of any transaction requested that is not within approved limits.
  • Define key risk indicators and alert the senior management to any potential operational risk issues or unusual events in the Middle Office activities.
  • Coordinate with Compliance to ensure all counterparties have satisfactorily cleared the KYC.
  • Reverify to ensure transaction approval processes are met, related documentation is completed and necessary information are accurately captured in the system for all business transactions
  • Ensure that any regulatory reporting required is submitted on a timely basis to the Compliance Officer
  • Check the audit trail of all transactions in conjunction with the back office.
  • Assist in the documentation of policies and procedures of the Front Office, Middle Office and Back Office
  • Assist in the preparation of Risk Management Reports/MIS

Skills:


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor of Business / Finance / Accounting or any other relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in the Middle Office / MIS functions in a Financial Institution
  • Proficiency in advance Excel tools
  • Experience in Bloomberg terminal will be advantageous
