HSSE Manager
to join our team In this role you willpr ovide expertise and technical assistance to site management for the implementation of the ESHARP and company SH&E processes.
Reviews, interprets, and assists on the implementation of safety regulations and standards. Monitors project safety performance and conducts project audits and safety inspections.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Participates in the development and implementation of office and project safety plans.
- Represents the HSE Managers on all construction job sites.
- Review risk assessments for upcoming work and provide technical assistance to the safety planning process.
- Advises and assists Parsons Project Management in the establishment and management of safety programs and in identifying and eliminating/controlling any hazards to persons and property.
- Assist Parsons Project Management in developing Safety Performance Indicators and Targets and helps communicate findings to staff and assist in implementation of the mitigation strategies.
- Provides oversight to the new hire safety orientation process and other safety related training.
- Participates in Weekly HSE Meetings with Contractors and assists and participates in site safety training.
- Advises Parsons Project Management on potential hazards at work site.
- Receives, reviews, and distributes safety inspection reports with recommended corrective actions.
- Reviews contractors on bid list regarding safety performance, qualifications, and programs.
- Conducts safety audits through review and analysis of performance by validating compliance with Parsons' ESHARP Safety Management System, Client requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Participates in prejob conferences to present company safety policy and explain implementation of Parsons Safety Management System on the projects and in our offices.
- Assists the Workers' Compensation Analyst in coordinating medical care and case management of employees injured at company facilities.
- Reviews loss control reports from company insurance carriers and regulatory inspection agencies and confers with appropriate management representatives on compliance with regulations and citations.
- Represents the company at national safety conferences.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and/or equivalent experience and relevant safety related training courses.
- 20 + years post graduation experience
- Extensive knowledge of Federal and local health and safety regulations and reporting procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong assessment and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent ability to design and implement policies.
- Excellent presentation skills for delivery of health and health and safety related training programs.
- High attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
