Education:
Diploma/Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial maintenance.
Experience:
5 to 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing
environment. Experience specifically biscuit production is highly desirable.
Previous experience in a supervisory role within maintenance, demonstrating the ability to lead a team, manage workloads, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems commonly found in biscuit manufacturing equipment, including rotary molder, depositor, lamination and sheeting line, conveyors, ovens, mixers, packaging machinery, and utilities (Air compressor, HVAC).
Familiarity with PLC. industrial control systems, and automation technology used in modern manufacturing facilities.
Leadership and Communication Skills:
Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and manage a team of maintenance technicians.
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions, provide technical guidance, and facilitate collaboration among team members.
Ability to communicate with other departments, such as production and planning to coordinate maintenance activities and address operational needs.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
Thorough understanding of safety regulations and standards applicable to maintenance operations, including OSHA requirements and food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP).
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes of failures, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Sound decision-making skills to prioritize maintenance tasks, allocate resources, and make informed decisions to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Organizational and Planning Skills:
Effective organizational skills to develop and implement maintenance schedules, coordinate work orders, and manage spare parts inventory.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate maintenance needs and respond to emergency situations.
