As a Cisco ACI Engineer, you will be responsible for providing expert-level support and implementing solutions related to Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).


  • The engineer is a key element within the Rackspace support infrastructure and is expected to provide a high level of technical support to our customers via the phone, ticketing system, and automation. This role owns complex customer issues which may take several days or weeks to resolve and keeps our customers updated through every step of the process. Responsible for the engineering, design, and development of hardware, software, and networking systems. Provides a framework for system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts. Implements standards and guidelines of support. Analyses systems and performance usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements. The Support Engineer is expected to take initiative and advise on potential pitfalls that a customer may encounter and suggest alternatives which may better serve the stability and security of the customer's solution. Keeps informed of emerging technologies. Responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed.

Responsibilities:


Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation:


  • Supporting and operating Cisco ACI, making necessary adjustments and improvements.
  • Supporting network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
  • Configuring and maintaining network services to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

Platform Management and Optimization:


  • Monitor and optimize the performance of ACI environments.
  • Managing network platforms and systems such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, and SNMP.
  • Optimizing network platforms for scalability, reliability, and security.

Security and Compliance:


  • Implementing and enforcing network security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices for network security.

Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:


  • Monitoring network performance, analysing traffic patterns, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Investigating and resolving networkrelated issues, including performance degradation and connectivity problems.

Collaboration and Integration:


  • Working closely with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to align network infrastructure with organizational goals.

Documentation and Reporting:


  • Creating and maintaining documentation for network configurations and procedures.
  • Generating reports on network performance, capacity planning, and utilization metrics.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Cisco ACI engineer with a successful track record of designing and/or deploying ACI solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in supporting and managing enterpriselevel network infrastructure and platforms.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, and network security principles.
  • Handson experience with network devices from various vendors (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of firewall technologies, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting ACI components, including Nexus 9000 series switches.
  • Solid understanding of data center networking technologies, including VLANs, VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, and VRF.
  • Experience with softwaredefined networking (SDN) and network vitalisation concepts.

Additional skills:


  • Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA), or equivalent certifications.
  • Familiarity with softwaredefined networking (SDN) concepts and technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking principles and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Role onsite in Riyadh, KSA
