Partner Engineer Role

  • This role works and operates through partners
  • Act as tech advisors for the partners

Role components:

1. Partner Development

  • Partner enablement right skillset for GCP
  • Tech savvy within cloud


  • GCP implementation experience

  • AWS, Azure, other cloud providers
  • Profile should know the spectrum of cloud services to build the tech plan for partner that spans across years

2. Helping partner create service offerings

  • Partner may have fixed scope or valuebased solution built on top of GCP
  • Partner to pitch valuebased solutions build on top of GCP, not just sell GCP
  • Partner know how to package the solution, revise tech architecture
  • Knowledge of architecture knowledge to build this along with partners
  • Technical Go to market for these service offering
- packaging the solution, right MVP, right pricing
- support with elevator pitch for partner - from tech + Business standpoint


3. Opportunity Support

  • Generating leads along with partner
  • Supporting with presales activity, presales demos, presentations
  • Support on partner's marketing campaigns / digital marketing campaigns
  • Presales support for helping with responding to RFP (tech standpoint), revise the solution footprint for the proposal
  • Overlay a governance model for the RFP process
  • Stakeholder management with other dept. in google
  • Post sales: ensure partner + client journey has a smooth implementation phase
  • Followup on tickets, additional support, build relationship within google cloud team


  • Post go live

  • Engage right teams to ensure implementation is officially attested by Google

Other aspects:


  • Min experience: 7 cloud experience
  • Open to profiles working with AWS or other partners
  • Post closure tasks this role does not need hands on involvement as the partner does the actual implementation. Role of partner engineer is to setup the right governance for customer success. Ensure blockers are resolved.
  • Profile does not do the actual implementation, as this is what the partner does.


  • Educational background

  • Computer Science degrees
  • Tech skills experience of working with digital natives | Digital transformation projects in past | Implementation experience | Exposure to cloud implementation lifecycle
  • Client open to reviewing profiles basis the above understanding.
  • KPIs: # of certifications that partners have achieved
Amount of revenue from partner

Pipeline of the partners (size of partner)

  • Professional Cloud Architect certified
  • Tech skills of a CE and PE are almost the same
