    The role

    For our headquarters in Munich, we are looking for a Head of Engineering (m/f/x) who will lead the engineering department of the company; from hiring and training new team members to managing tech projects and preparing the budget of the team.


    In this role, you will:

    • Be responsible for heading the Engineering teams and directly supporting the CTO Work closely with the CTO, peers, and executives to execute the technical strategy of software development, additionally you will hire, onboard, mentor, coach and lead the team
    • Own the execution of products development
    • Ensure engineering excellence, including following agile development practices, development guidelines, and architecture best practices
    • Set the establishment of agile processes across the virtual project teams
    • Own the budget, the responsibility, and effective management of the software development environment

    Requirements

    • Bachelor s/Master s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
    • Work experience as a CTO or as a VP, Head or Director of Engineering, or in a similar senior-level Engineering department position.
    • 5+ years experience in several languages (frameworks), specifically: C#, .NET Core, JS Frameworks such as ReactJS or AngularJS, and 3+ years experience in Cloud Services such as AWS with an extensive experience in software development and project management.
    • Experience with system design in a SaaS product environment and with Cloud solution enablement.
    • Experience managing IT in Agile Frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban, with Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

    In this role, you will: Be reporting to the CTO and managing a team of IT experts. Be a coach and support operational resources as a servant leader Lead the administration and development of a first-class operating environment (including Jenkins, CI/CD, databases, docker, storage, servers, networks, etc.) Responsible for the strategy planning (creating and monitoring) Ensure the highest level of availability for all systems and IT services for both customers and internal staff Work with software engineering to ensure best practices for new software deployment whilst maintaining the highest standards of systems availability and security Contribute to the design of physical systems\' architecture and infrastructure platforms from an operational perspective, to achieve optimum results that meet the needs of the business (including Cloud services) Support client requests, including responding to RFIs and RFPs around IT standards along with the ISO 27001 certification and maintenance Drive continuous optimization of availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency as well as support the continuous improvement, testing, delivery, and deployment for our SaaS products Responsible for IT Security policies, testing and adherence, including penetration testing and Disaster Recovery policies to ensure 100% uptime alongside with establishing IT standards and processes and ensuring full documentation and adherence Responsible for the internal administration and security for the organization as a whole What you will bring to the table: Bachelor s or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Several years of experience in DevOps, databases and server management, experience in managing global teams, and demonstrated success in operating mission-critical infrastructure 3+ years experience in building scalable infrastructure on cloud services such as AWS; deep understanding of cloud computing, server and storage management, virtualization, project management, firewalls, and web servers deployment Strong proficiency with Jenkins, GitHub, CI/CD, and RDBMS databases is a must Experience establishing modern Security and Disaster Recovery standards and frameworks; high-level understanding of networking and security principles Experience with budget planning as well as able to build and monitor IT Budget Experience with system design in a SaaS product environment and understanding of how to manage IT in agile frameworks and Scrum Experience in Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Desk, MongoDB administration, and working with financial data centres is a plus
