- This role is to support RSG goal to be world's most regenerative tourism destination, through carrying out national/international sustainability standards related to hospitality and retail operations and its related activities to outperforming level and has an innovative contribution to strategies as well as to materialize results when it comes to projects, reporting, analyses, benchmarking, management systems and efficiency.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Sustainable Hospitality Operation Strategy that promotes to the wider group sustainability vision, policy and strategy with all dimensions of sustainability (environmental, social and economic).
- Assist to managing hospitality and retail sustainability projects and lead team members from different departments and backgrounds.
- Support the preparation of annual and long-term action plans with defined objectives, targets, and responsibilities to support agreed sustainability strategies.
- Establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve the sustainability management system at the hostels assets, including the processes needed and requirements integration into the hospitality operation business processes.
- Leading stakeholder's communication for internal functions/division engagement, and external entities including (hotels' operators, authorities, contractors, suppliers, retail operators) to drive business needs and achieve cross functional targets
- Develop/maintain/implement sustainable control procedures ensuring they are followed
- Ensure that sustainable supply chain fundamentals are assessed throughout the hospitality supply chain workflow.
- Manage the sustainable hospitality memberships & affiliations and their requirements implementation such as (Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, Global Sustainable Tourism Council, Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism, and Green Key)
- Monitor and evaluate the hospitality sustainability reporting requirements and sustainability KPIs and analyze performance for internal and external reporting frameworks such as Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, GRI, ..
- Conduct calculations for energy consumption, carbon footprint, CO2 and GHGs emissions and propose mitigation measures and initiatives/solutions to achieve the hospitality carbon net zero target.
- Assure regulatory compliance for sustainability requirements and all related plans and action implemented
- Plan and lead internal inspections and audits program to the sustainability management system.
- Develop and manage sustainability training programs to ensure essential competencies and associated training needs are identified and provided as per roles and responsibilities, including managing junior sustainability professional(s) and mentor their development plan.
- Prepare high-level sustainable hospitality operations presentation for internal/external stakeholders.
- Assist the Sustainable hospitality operation manager and senior manager in all relevant tasks.
- Follow all RSG relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible sustainable attitude.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of sustainability performance systems, regenerative processes, good 'international best practice' knowledge, improvement of business processes, technology, innovation, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental & Sustainability / Engineering related degree, master's degree is a plus point
- Min of 10 years' experience that includes working in sustainable hospitality and corporates environment & sustainability
- Analytical, Numerical, and Critical reviewing skills and an eye for detail
- Technical writing and researching skills
- Dataset management and familiarity with environmental and sustainability managing software/platforms is a plus
- Strong planning and organizational skills, and good project management abilities
- Capability to understand broader business issues
- Excellent Communication and good presentation skill
- Relevant ESG professional certifications are preferred and being certified for any of ISO 140001, 9001, 21401, 23405 is a plus point.
