Position Summary: TheAccounting Specialist assists with month-end close, balance sheetand bank reconciliations, asset register verification, and is theprimary point of contact for vendors and internal BRAVE departmentsand stakeholders to successfully complete the accounts payable ;The position oversees all aspects of accounts payable includinginvoice and payment processing, staff expense reimbursement, andresolving invoice/payment

Profile: This person is anorganized self-starter with a passion for details and ; An abilityto enact improvements and process enhancements in a growing churchis ; Additionally, the Accounts Payable Specialist shouldunderstand the wider accounting process and be able to anticipatethe financial statement implications of the A/P ;

PositionResponsibilities:

• Vendor setup and maintenance
• Interaction with other departments and vendorsto ensure timely payment
• Schedule processingof regular disbursements to vendors and monitor status
• Purchase orders entered, reviewed, andmonitored
• Posting of ledger entries
• Reconciliations - banks, debit card, and otheraccounts as needed
• Complete month end closeprocesses in a timely manner
• Create monthly,quarterly, and annual reporting as needed
• Special projects to support finance andaccounting department
• Support audit requests
• Coordinate with other ministries ensuringmission accomplishment
• Promote improvementsand upgrades to current

Qualifications:

• Detail oriented
• Financialstatement understanding
• Working knowledge ofaccounting/bookkeeping
• Formal training ortechnical degree with certification; or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience in accounting and related fields withaccounts payable emphasis preferred
• Experiencewith accounting and accounts payable systems (Xero and preferred)along with intermediate to advanced Excel skillshelpful
