Greed for Wealth

Ah, life begins swiftly and fades away timely. The stretch of human life clearly hints destiny. Nothing less comes the way and nothing more is given.

With the taste of wealth, oftentimes, we human beings, out of tendencies and temptations, fall into oblivion, forget others and essentially become unmindful of the Almighty Lord. Instead, we fall prey to greed, and with this there’s the big harm.

In vain, we mess up our lives with growing greed, ambitious assignments and troublesome thoughts. In the end, we become just materialistic with no signs of spiritual leaning.

What a meanness of materialism that dulls our reasoning and hearts. While passionate for earning riches and lucrative opportunities, we forget the shortness of our lives. We are cheery, healthy today. Tomorrow is uncertain.

With ups and downs, every person’s life takes its destined course and momentum. Of course, we all have to try our best, with our best capabilities, and what we get we have to be content, and not greedy. One who is a pauper today may become rich tomorrow, and one who is wealthy today may become destitute tomorrow. If life’s an ordeal, the worldly show is all play and pastime!

Isn’t that funny, but sounds more a paradox when we realize that the wealthy tend to hold the reigns of the country, and politicians, who run their political campaigns on their funding, are in fact, their allies. What a say about the fashion of the world and world chronicles! Even corrupt politicians, with paltry personality traits, pocket money into their undisclosed accounts and die miserable with squandered, unused wealth.

What sense it makes when one boasts “My money, my property, my possessions, my wealth”. A person’s wealth is that much only what is spent, a person’s provision is that much only what is consumed and a person’s garments are that much only what are used.

Even if massive piles of gold are given to human beings, then hearts would desire for more. That’s nasty greed that ruins everything and makes people crazy. And those who are greedy for money, riches and worldliness so deliberately and in ignorance discard precepts of wisdom, and when they become rich, they foolishly think that they can buy everything, at a price. So strange! In fact, when we lessen our greed for worldliness, we will be richer persons, with all heartiness.

Ugh…what a sarcastic semblance be given to those who vie for power, status, super-salaries and teams of people who just keep nodding and perform their biddings. In this greedy and rude world, there are merchants of mockery who know well how to deride others, mishmash others’ sincere commitments and try to misrule things with their foolish fancies. Such miscreants will be left isolated, friendless in their own wilderness.

Perhaps, in this temporal world, we human beings, with limited age, make wrong assumptions, and sometimes deem that huge excess of wealth is prosperity. But, we often forget that piety of heart itself is a rarest richness. We become unhappy, poor, far wretched and miserable when we trespass all simplicity for worldly gains.

Presumably, to be happier in all walks of our lives, we have to shun blinding exultation, and embrace simple truths and verities for a happy living.

To sum up, it’s not how rich you are or how poor you are, but what matters most is how you live by your deeds. When you are righteous, living by the infallible truths, then verily you will rejoice...and that’s your life’s triumph.
