JOBDESCRIPTION:

• ThePrincipal Database Engineer is an Aurora PostgreSQL Database andAutomation engineer and is responsible for supporting all aspectsof the design, build, and support of the cloud databaseenvironments through automation. The Principal Engineer isresponsible for ensuring that the environments are performingoptimally and align to best practices for security andresiliency.
  
• TheData Engineering team designs and builds secure, resilient,recoverable, and reusable frameworks to support the entire databaselife cycle. The team focuses on continuous service improvements toincrease the quality of service and speed ofdelivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supportand manage the Aurora PostgreSQL databaseenvironments
  
• Automatethe build and support tasks across database technologies (i.e.Oracle, MS SQL, andPostgreSQL)
  
• Adhereto best practices on Incident, Problem and Changemanagement
  
• Leadprojects independently with minimalguidance
  
• Responsiblefor managing and supporting Aurora PostgreSQL database platformsworking closely with AWS, application support teams, andinfrastructureteams
  
• Install,configure, upgrade, and maintain database instances onAWS
  
• Recommendand implement database securitypolicies
  
• Recommendand implement database backup, recovery, and redundancystrategies
  
• Implementautomated procedures to proactively handle issues andalerts
  
• Performdatabase performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing andongoingmaintenance
  
• Alignsrisk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities tomonitor and mitigate risk and escalatesappropriately
  
• Demonstratesreliability by taking necessary actions to continuously meetrequired deadlines andgoals.
  
• Appliesglobal perspective when working within a team by being aware ofworking styles and ensuring all relevant parties are involved inkey team tasks anddecisions
  
• Articulatesinformation clearly and presents information effectively andconfidently

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimumof 8 years of related experience, with a minimum of 5 years ofrelated PostgreSQLexperience
  
• Bachelorsdegree preferred or equivalentexperience
  
• Strongknowledge on AWS cloud technologies; AWS certification would be aplus
  
• 5+year experience managing large scale Aurora databaseenvironments
  
• Strongperformance Tuning and Optimization skills including re-writingSQLs for optimalperformance.
  
• Extensiveexperience with Automation using Terraform, Ansible,Chef
  
• Strongknowledge of operating systems (Unix / Linux /Windows)
  
• Handson experience with Shell and Python scripting to automate tasksenabling self-healingcapabilities
  
• Strongexperience with partitioning and handling largedatabases
  
• Understandsinter laying technologies like OS, Networking, Applications, andits impact todatabases

RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop, and implement enterprise systemsas part of a complete software product lifecycle, leveraging theAEM platform. Serves as technical expert on the team, implements oncomplex projects with less specificity and direction. Have athorough understanding of the Adobe AEM platform and all of itsconstituent parts, including content management, commerce, digitalasset management, target, analytics, etc. Architect and Designscalable solutions using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Ability tomanage the Digital Experience portfolio and deliverables.Contribute to strategic planning meetings and provide guidance andexpertise on system options, risks, and impacts. Design andoptimize business processes and integrate those processes acrossvarious systems. Partner /Liaison between engineering and business.Ability to work with other product managers for cross-functionaldiscussions and synergies. Excellent problem-solvingskills, with a demonstrated ability to identify and solve issues.QUALIFICATIONS: 10+ years of experience with a proven track recordof successfully delivering global and highly scalablecustomer-facing digital products and capabilities. Experienceleading complex Adobe AEM implementation projects from design(architecture) through implementation and delivery. 5+ years ofexperience in implementing Web application, Web Content Management(WCM) solutions using AEM platform. Experience in AEM componentdevelopment, workflow development and integrating AEM with otherapplications. 3+ years of experience in using and integrating thebroader Adobe Experience Cloud stack (i.e. Assets, Analytics,Launch, Target, Campaign, etc.) Extensive experience with REST APIdesign and implementation. Experience building distributed systemsat scale based on micro services architecture. Experience inleveraging continuous integration and robust build/test automation,with a preference for cross platform stacks (Jira, Git, andJenkins). Knowledge of implementing third party integrations withcontent management systems. Experience in complex software productdelivery in an Agile environment Exposure to public cloudtechnology stack in AWS. Good organizational skills, with theability to work independently in a highly collaborative, virtualteam-based environment.
