    EMEA Head of Applications

    ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

    Reporting intothe EMEA CIO and sitting on the Technology Leadership team, as EMEAHead of Applications you will establish and lead the ApplicationsCentre of Excellence, responsible for product ownership and supportof strategic EMEA applications.

    You will partnerwith internal technology groups and external suppliers to ensurethat strategic application platforms align with the company'soverall objectives. You will also serve as a strategic partner tobusiness leaders, internal innovation teams, and IT functionalareas by helping them identify and take advantage of new digitalopportunities while providing guidance and ensuring solutions alignwith the business and IT strategy.

    Initially,there will be a strong focus on the HR and Finance DigitalTransformation programmes, which are currently in progress. Theresulting HR (SAP SuccessFactors) and Finance (TBD) platforms willtransition to the EMEA Applications Centre of Excellence forProduct Ownership, including functional improvements and ongoingsupport.

    You will also oversee the CRM platform(Salesforce), which is led by the Head of Salesforce Centre ofExcellence.

    In addition, we currently useapproximately 400 applications across 18 EMEA countries. You willbe responsible for Application Portfolio Management, to betterunderstand the current application landscape and (working with keybusiness stakeholders) define an application strategy to optimisevalue for the firm.

    The business growth strategyis underpinned by significant M&A activity. Working with thePMO and EMEA Solutions Architect, you will be required to overseethe application mapping of acquired applications aspects of M&Awork, including finding pragmatic ways to quickly onboard targetfirms to the standard application stack.

    WhatYou'll Do

    Key responsibilities:

    • Establish and lead Product teams to own thesupport and ongoing development of the forthcoming EMEA HR andFinance platforms
    • Lead the Salesforce Centreof Excellence (direct report: Head of Salesforce CoE)
    • Lead the EMEA Applications PortfolioManagement initiative
    • Build the long-termstrategic roadmap for all EMEA Applications.
    • Establish Business Partnership (RelationshipManagement) function to better align applications with businessrequirements
    • Align the applications teams withexisting IT Service Delivery teams (via established ITIL processes)to meet business support SLAs
    • Develop andmaintain policies, guiding principles and standards to ensure thata consistent application framework is applied across the firm.
    • Develop application rationalization frameworkto reduce technical debt.
    • Stay current oncloud technologies and cloud and hybrid cloud frameworks.
    • Partner with Information Security to ensurearchitecture aligns with security strategy and policies.
    • Perform additional responsibilities asrequested to achieve business objectives.

    • Eight or more years ofprofessional IT or IS experience.
    • Five or moreyears of application leadership experience.
    • Experience of leading Product Ownership:ongoing support and development of applications
    • Demonstrable Business Relationship Managementexperience
    • Experience of leading anApplication Portfolio Management initiative
    • Adeep understanding of the ITIL framework (which is our establishedframework for IT Service Delivery) particularly Release Management
    • One to three years of global IT experience.
    • The ability to think big and challengeconventional wisdom regarding technology refresh and hype.
    • Strong leadership and negotiation skills withbusiness and technical groups.
    • Excellentverbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong project management and organizationskills.
    • A demonstrated ability to buildconsensus among many stakeholders.
    • The abilityto be comfortable with ambiguity and a willingness to takeprincipled bets on new technology.
    • The abilityto establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IT standards tomeet business requirements.
